YAMASHIRO A HOLLYWOOD STAR

YAMASHIRO: A HOLLYWOOD STAR

Since 1911 Yamashiro has soared 250 feet above not only Hollywood Blvd, but also the Hollywood scene. Once the home to the Four Hundred Club, Yamashiro is accustomed to the limelight. From creating the perfect Japanese city backdrop in motion pictures, to hosting lavish premiers and legendary wrap parties, Yamashiro is a star!

Modeled after a palace high in the hills of Kyoto Japan, Yamashiro’s detailed construction and ornate interiors attractedt much attention from the film industry. Sayonara, with Marlon Brando, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Thousand Men and a Baby, and LA Without a Map are just a few of the movies filmed here. Various TV series such as I Spy, Route 66, My Three Sons, and Perry Mason also used Yamashiro as their backdrops. Even MTV came to Yamashiro to elaborate on its romantic impact in their Blind Date show, and the oh-so popular series The Hills.

Hollywood’s film stars still find that same solace and continue to add to the ongoing list of Hollywood allure at Yamashiro. Guests currently include Johnny Depp, Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt, Dolly Parton, Mel Gibson, Gwyneth Paltrow, LeAnn Rimes, and Joe Pesci. One hundred and two years later, Yamashiro still shines bright as a Hollywood star.
